2017...2018

Caroline has been struggling a bit the last couple of days at home.  She has battled nausea, getting sick, and a slight fever today (Sunday).  We will continue to monitor her condition and hopefully she can get over the hump in the next couple of days, as her Neulasta shot (helps recovery from chemo) starts to kick in.  If her fever spikes much more, we will wind up back in the hospital until she can stabilize.

We have enjoyed our quiet time at home with Caroline, while Andrew is enjoying his winter vacation in Florida with Mark's parents.  Caroline had a brief visit with one of her dear friends yesterday...they watched movies and had popcorn...just like "old times."  Those visits are few and far between right now because of her (basically) non-existent immune system, and high risk of illness and fever especially, during cold and flu season.  Most of her days are spent on the couch, or when she has energy, playing by herself or with mom and dad.  Once the weather warms up a bit we will resume getting her out for walks and some vitamin D!

Thank you for all the love and support you have given to our family in 2017.  We are walking into 2018 with grateful hearts and a positive attitude.

Special THANK YOU to the nurses, doctors, staff and volunteers at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.  Y'all have been amazing to our entire family...10/10!!!

Happy New Year!

This very special family picture was taken after we received Caroline's diagnosis, but before she started treatment.  Thank you, Anna!
